"That'll do pig. That'll do."

Boo this nasty cold weather! It's only December and already I'm sick of digging my car out of the mound of snow that lands on it every flipping time I leave. In lieu of keeping of this pathetic subject of Utahs sucky winter months, I'll move along.
You people who know me are probably sick of hearing me talk about how I'm moving to Hawaii, but I'm going to do it some more, and you also probably know how I blog best in lists. Kudos to my faithful readers, here goes.
5 THINGS I WILL MISS MOST ABOUT UTAH:
1. My family. Yes this reason alone is almost enough to keep me on this continent, but sometimes you need to move away to fully appreciate what you have.
2. My friends. Although those who are not married, are more than welcome to come with me, (and the married ones can come visit, priorities ya know)
3. All the places that bring back memories. Pioneer day at Bear lake, the Oakley rodeo on the 4th of July, Temple Square at Christmas, Grandmas back porch, Getting sod in Idaho, backyard BBQ's, and etc.
4. Snow. Yes, this will also be on my "10 things I will NOT miss most about utah", but the snow does add to the spirit of Christmas and makes everything look cool, our own personal Narnia.
5. Fall. Logan may be frigid in the winter, but it's pretty in the fall, especially Logan and Sardine canyon.
So... A lot has been going on in just these past few weeks. I've been stressing about work, school, nursing and all the usual stuff.... and when I couldn't sleep I had an epiphany. Gotta love those. Everything just sorta combined and sorted itself out. Lately I've been wondering if nursing is really what I want to do for the rest of my life.... I mean I work right along side them, and granted, the difference between a nurse and a CNA is huge, I felt as though nursing is just a glorified cna job, just with more schooling and getting paid more. I have an awesome friend (Kar-lay I like to call her) Karlie, who is a pharmacy technician. On our trip in Provo, we were talking about work and stuff....and it started this tiny idea in my head. I mean, it was pretty obvious that I was jealous of her hours, but it was more than that. I did some investigating and it turns out that although school to become a pharmacist is 2 years longer than to become a registered nurse, it is easier to get into, has better hours, better work and everything. Because nursing and pharmacy prereqs are so close, I am pretty close. It does have more prereqs (like public speaking....shoot me) but I could be done with those super quick..... Everything is FINALLY falling into place, and I officially have my future sorted out.
Thanks for all the support. Aloha

"Sunshine, daisies, bottom mellow....turn this stupid fat rat yellow!"

It's been a long time since I last blogged. I hate that I can never remember what to blog about when I sit down to blog, but when I'm at work taking someones blood pressure this great idea will pop into my head, but by the time my 12 hours are up the idea is lost forever.
Isn't it kinda annoying how life never turns out how you plan it? I guess it just goes to show that there is a greater force, and H.F. knows exactly what he's doing. But, seriously, it would be nice to know what the general plan is so I could save energy.
If things had gone with MY plan, I would only have 1 class left until all my prereqs for nursing would be done... but in reality I have 2. Okay, yes, partially my own fault, seeing as how I decided I needed a new job, and then proceeded to have a mini-nervous breakdown in my first microbiology class. I take responsibility for that...
well..... more later.
Happy Christmas everyone!
Aloha

"This IS my happy face!"

Here I am again with another embarassing moment.
In the beginning, I will say this: distinguish contacts in cell phone.

I have a very dear friend named Lisa Christiansen. At the time of my kelsie moment, I also had a YW leader named Lisa Christensen. Similar, yet different. I was a senior in high school and was doing my homework for Nutrition 1020 one night. Stupid Diet Analysis! I could never figure it out!
Anyways, I sat at the computer, frustrated because I couldn't get it done, so I decided "Hey! I'll call Lisa!" (who was in the class with me) "she knows how to do it." I pulled out my phone, went to the contacts list and typed in LIS and it brought me to Lisa. I pressed send and waited while it rang. Once.... twice.....
"Hello?"
"Hi! Is Lisa there?" (thinking maybe her mom answered)
"This is her,"
"Lisa Christiansen?"
"Yes....."
(this is where I paused. Was Lisa's [my friend] mom named Lisa too? What the heck had I gotten myself into? Was homework really that important? Okay well whatever. I'll plunge head first.)
Me: "Okay, can you help me with nutrition?"
Lisa: "..... What do you mean?"
(I took a few moments of contemplation. And then, I realized that I recognized this voice. But how? Who? To my utter horror, I remembered. BAM!!!! It hit me!)
Me:"Is this Lisa Christensen?"
Lisa: "Yes, who is this?"
(Oh man. How much I wanted to die.)
Me: "Kelsie. "
Lisa: "I thought I recognized your voice! What did you mean earlier?"
(Kill me. Kill. Me. Now.)
Me: "Ha. Well I'm taking this nutrition class, and I have a friend in there named 'Lisa Christiansen' and I must've dailed the wrong one. Sorry!"
A short time later I hung up the phone. Needless to say, I waited until school the next day to talk to Lisa [friend] about the homework.

"Did you say, 'Billy, I love you'?"

Enough! Enough with boring what readers I may have, and it is time to finally speak of something that (hopefully) will be an interesting and maybe a captivating read. Enough with boring! Consider it done!

Have you ever sat and realized all the stupid things you have done in your life? Probably not, because not everyone does all the stupid things I do. Ba ha-sad! But true!
Aside from the usual falling up/down flights of stairs, spilling on white shirts and losing stuff I was just holding 2 seconds ago, I do some pretty stupid and embarassing stuff. You should feel privileged that I care enough for my readers that I am willing to let you in on some of my blonde moments.
If you haven't noticed this by now, I write best in lists. Get used to it ;)
"Kelsie's 'Did I really just do that?!' List"
1. One time in the 8th grade I was reduced to tears because of my clumsiness. It had been raining all morning, and for some reason, me and my friends were later than usual getting to lunch. We took the usual shortcut which consists of running down a very steep hill instead of going down stairs. This is where the rain comes in. Kelsie failed to think of the consequences of rain+hill+running would entail. Yep, you guessed it. "GRACE" here, slipped and fell quite a few feet on her behind in the mud. And, it just so happens she was wearing khakis and a light pink sweater. I won't speak anymore on this humiliating day, you get the picture.

2.9th grade. Coincidentally, the same flight of stairs at NC that I had bypassed in #1. The bell after first hour had rang and like the herd of students, I was trying to make my way up the stairs while another huge herd were trying to make it down. I was holding my stupid baby for that home-ec class all the girls take because it's that or shop class. I vaguelly remember talking to someone when my right foot didn't clear the stair and I went down. When I say "down" I mean DOWN and down hard! I was carrying my books and my doll so my hands were full, resulting in a deep cut on the knuckle of my right birdie finger-of which the scar I still have to this day.

3. Sunshine Terrace - my old place of employment. It was around my year-mark in December when this happened. During the holidays we got a lot of youth groups and single adult groups coming to visit people so they wouldn't be so lonely. On this particular day, the floors had just been mopped. (WHY they are mopped during the day is BEYOND me). So I'm charting and I hear a call light go off. Turns out, it is at the end of one of the halls just recently mopped. But did kelsie go down the side of the hall that the room was on?! Nope! She goes on the opposite, walks down the side (holding onto the bars because the floor was wet) and has to cross the hallway. So she decides split-second to just try and take one GIANT step. Yet again a recipe for disaster: kelsie+wet floor+shoes with no traction+visitors. Yep I ended up doing an odd version of the splits, screaming as I go down and I hear my shoes do a huge squeak!!!! As much as I hate to admit it, I am guilty of looking around whenever I do something stupid. This particular time, I glance over to the resident's room across the hall from my destination, and a big group of single adults had been standing in the doorway. AWESOME.

4. Lee's marketplace-GNO. I was driving with Karlie and Oliver in the car, trying to turn left towards Logan. I had my blinker on.... waiting.....waiting....waiting..... and finally its clear both ways except for one stinking car. The driver of this car puts his right blinker on like he is going to pull into the parking lot that I'm pulling out of. Turns out, some people put their blinker on very very early and if it weren't for Dash's quick brakes, we would've been smashed!

5. O.F. parking lot around Halloween. It was the weekend and I had packed up my laundry and such and was pullling out of my apartment parking lot turning right. I was too busy watching for cars on my left to notice any cars on my rigth. Yeah- I didn't turn wide enough and clipped a PARKED car. Luckily, the only damage done was to Dash (my car) seriously that other car was a TANK!! It didn't even have a scratch!! So now I have been driving around with a dented door for almost a year. "What happened to your door?" "Um, yeah. I ran into a parked car." funny.

That is plenty of humiliating moments for now. As more happen I will consider blogging about them. I hope they entertained.
Aloha
ps. some are just too bad to tell.

"'Hang' is a verb, not a s-s-sandwich!"

"Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" - Monty Python

Wow! I cannot believe that I have been done with classes for almost a month! And It's been even longer since I bored you to tears with my thoughts of nothingness, which brings me here. I don't think I can say it enough... I love summer!
For all of you that were confused at the "hope of a new job" with my last post, (I know my blog is SOO interesting and therefore my readers check daily to see if I posted recently. I also know that although my sarcasm is natural and very thick, it can be hard to tell when reading words off of a screen. I'm sure one day I will write something that will just hit the right note or light a spark for just ONE person, but until then I will continue plugging away about things that are of self-importance.)I had applied for job after job at hospitals all across our great state. All my hard work proved successful and I am now employed at the hospital (I have yet to start though..)and I am stoked for it!

Working in a nursing home for a year and a half (it may not seem like a lot-but trust me-it was) really wore on me. Kudos to those working in one. You will forever have my respect! Yes, I really enjoyed becoming friends with my co-workers and getting to know the residents and their families (Hey I even ended up doing my final paper in my English class on nursing homes=different story).

When I picked home-slice up from school on the last day, I could tell something was wrong because he wasn't talking. He started crying because it was the last day of school and he was really going to miss his teacher, "because he is so so nice!" When I later told Mom about it, she informed me that I (ME!) used to cry on the last day of school when I was in elementary too. Me! Cry because school was over! Can you imagine?!

I was on a roll.... and writers block sets in. I'm blogged out.
Aloha.

"Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?"

"And I always say, if it isn't Baroque, don't fix it!" - Beauty and the Beast
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING BLOG TALKS ALL ABOUT FEELLINGS.
I knew moving day would elicit a variety of feelings. Of course the most prominent feeling is one of pure FREEDOM. Yay for summer! With this feeling, I long for sunny, lazy days with lemonade and sleeping in. Oh how wonderful it will feel to have my first year over, out of old farm, and on to new adventures. Another strong feeling I feel is a mixture between melancholy and thoughtfulness. I've been packing away stuff constantly for a few weeks, and as my side of the room grew progressively more and more empty I realized it's over. My freshman year of college is over, and I will never get it, or the experiences I had back.
Yet this bittersweetness is kinda confusing. Yes, I am sad to see it end, and I will miss a lot of things, but I'm also very excited for summer, the possibility of a new job and new adventures next semester. I grew a lot as a person this past year, and even though I know I still have a lot to learn, I feel more confident and happy with myself as a person.
The thoughtfullness feeling comes when I think of what I will miss. I will miss the Keileigh-Kelsie gym appointments/nightly cereal, Wednesday dance parties, Chelsee-Kelsie movie nights and walks around logan/looking at houses. I'm also going to miss roommate park hopping and skookie nights.
I feel really ready to move when I think of what moving home means. I will get to see home-slice a lot more often, I will be able to help with the yard and such, plus free housing and food. Hopefully this summer will mean working and playing a ton, neither of which I have been able to do much of this year.
Overall though, I'm happy it's over and I will have a good 4 months of down-time before school again. Happy it's over, glad it happened.
Aloha

"And as I always say, 'If it isn't Baroque, don't fix it!'"

"Get the cheese, Buttercup!" = Master of Disguise

Yay! Summer is just around the corner! It is most definately my favorite season in Utah. I cannot wait!

Yay for lists! Here is a list of my favorite things about summer!
1. The sun
2. No more cumbersome layers!
3. Riding in the car with the windows down
4. No school
5. Flowers
6. Night games
7. Watermelon
8. Walks
9. Lemonade
10. Reading books for pleasure
11. Getting tan
12. Jumping on the tramp
13. Falling asleep in some shade
14. Popsicles
15. Bonfires
16. Running through the sprinklers
17. Homemade root beer
18. Washing the car
19. Water fights
20. Staying up late
And Wa La! There's my "I Love Summer" list.
Okay now an update on things in my life!

So for as long as I can remember, I have been a nail biter. Kinda weird, I know, but recently I have felt such self control because I now have white tips on every single finger! No more "hobbit hands" for me! (well, at least as long as I can keep it up).

My roommate Chels introduced our apartment to cake cookies! Delicious! You make cookies out of cake mix, 1/3 cup oil, 1/4 cup water, and 1 egg then just cook them "until their done" Chelsee says. Yum!
So me, Ches and Kei make cake cookies with funfetti cake batter (our fav!) and then frosted them with rainbow chip frosting and it was delicious. We mainly made them for our new B1 friends who we met at our dance party/spinning contest but we kept some for ourselves as well.

The D.I. is my all time favorite place to waste time. Me and Chels went in search of a VCR because we've been dying to watch our old VHS/Disney movies and we hit jackpot! We found a smallish tv for $5 and Pearl Harbor on VHS for 1.50$! How awesome are we?! Plus we spent a good amount of time testing the awesome vintage couches and chairs.

I desperately need a haircut! Call an intervention! It's to an awkward stage where its really grown out so it doesn't look good no matter what I do with it, plus I've noticed the signs that come when I need a haircut. 1. I pick at my split ends and 2. I end up pulling it back in a bun or a ponytail before the end of the day.

I ended finishing my 8 page paper in two days of hard hard work. I had to finally buckle down and get to work. But now, it is finished and I don't have to worry about it anymore (although the due date did get pushed back 2 days). AWESOME.

Aloha.
ps. Winter still has a tight grasp on the city of Logan. Will summer prevail and show its shining face? Ever?

"Get the cheese, Buttercup!"

So I started using movie quotes for my titles, and I never say anything about what movies they come from so I'll get everything up to speed.
"Never trust a pirate" - this one is pretty obvious - Pirates of the Caribbean
"It cost a fortune to fly that in from Norwegia" - A Cinderella Story
"Even the smallest person can change the course of the future" - this one seems obvious if you know what movie it's from - Lord of the Rings
"Look at Al Pacino. Never been married. Happy as a clam." - He's just not that into you.
"There's nothing exotic about being an American." - P.S. I Love You
From now on, I'll say the movie that I quoted in the next blog. For example, in my next blog I'll start with where "Get the cheese, Buttercup!" came from.

Anyways. I have a 10 page persuasive research paper due next Tuesday for my english 2010 class and about 2 paragraphs in I got writers block. I figured I'd update this to get my creative juices flowing.

Well........... it's not working. Signing off.
Aloha.

"There's nothing exotic about being an American."

Oh, the joys of college life.
Here I sit, watching a chick flick, eating mac and cheese and blogging away.
Granted I did overcook the noodles a wee bit. You'd think by now I'd be a pro :)

I thought last Saturday would be a good thing to blog about, it being something ordinary but unordinary at the same time. Me, Dad and Home-slice (Jacob) pulled out of the driveway around 8ish a.m. in Grandpas truck headed for H-town. My unofficial job being keeping Jacob satisfied and good music on.

Instead of stopping by Grandma's house we headed straight to the ranch. After Dad talked with some guys, we went to feed the horses. He had me on the flatbed trailer and was going to have Jacob drive the tractor, but thought better of that. So anyways he opened the gate and Jacob drove us in and I watched the horses walk out of the open gate instead of following us.
Dads theory: "Oh we'll go get them on the four wheeler when we're done."
Reality: He sends ME and JACOB on the four wheeler
again, Dads theory: "Once they see you coming, they'll come running."
Reality: Nope. Wrong. Very wrong.
I had thought maybe of grabbing a bucket of oats but figured since Dad didn't say anything about it then we probably didn't need it. I know what I'm doing right?

Ha! We ended up chasing 7 horses all aroung H-town for two hours. We only succeeded with the help of Grandpa and Dad. Go figure. Send the inexperienced 18 and 8 year old to do a job that two men can only do.

So anywho, after doing some yard work for Grandma all afternoon with Andrea, Dad suggested we go get the four wheeler from the ranch.
Andrea drove me up, made sure I started it, then pulled away.
I backed it up and followed after her. I had gone over one measley hill, glanced down to see my speed (45mph) to have the four wheeler die on me. Right in the middle of nowhere!
Unfortunately, Andrea hadn't seen it die on me so I put it in neutral and pushed it to the side of the road. I tried a few times to restart it, trying to remember what Matthew told me about the choke- to no avail.

40 minutes. It took over 40 minutes to walk back, and Dad and Jacob came in the truck when I was two blocks away from the house. Luckily only 3 cars passed and only one stopped. Ha! A man in a yellow SUV thing pulled over and said to me,
"Is that your four wheeler back there?"
Me: "Ha......... um yes."
Yellow car man: "I know I shouldn't offer a ride, but do you need help? I could send somebody."
Me: "Well, my dad should be on his way."
Yellow car man: "You sure?"
Me: "Ha, yeah thanks."

Awkward! Overall it was a long, long, long day.
Wish me luck for next time,
Aloha

Look at Al Pacino. Never been married. Happy as a clam.

I just Googled a picture of Sharks Cove to go along with my near death experience story. Just imagine us halfway down the picture on the far left trying to head to the open ocean (the far right). Aloha.

Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.

So recently (as in two blogs ago) I decided to make the titles of my blogs quotes from movies. If you guess the correct movie, you get a high five! ( or a gold star). Anyways, I just wanted to update any readers on that little tid bit.

In my blog about Oliver, I mentioned how we had almost died together. Amazingly enough, I find myself with no pressing assignments or issues and I have my computer so I figured now was as good a time as any to explain.

Again, like many of my posts, this involves Hawaii. And so I begin:

When we were still in the stages of planning, we made a list of things we wanted to do while in Hawaii. This list included SWAT Meet, Dole Plantation, Scuba diving, snorkeling, tanning, boogey boarding and etc.

Two days before leaving Hawaii, we were scheduled to go scuba diving with a local place. Nervous, but excited for the most part, we set out that morning determined to have a good time and not focus on our nerves. We get to the store, and our instructor is late. After we finally get our suits and all the heavy equipment, we load into this huge van and go get gas. Then we headed to a beach somewhat by Shark's Cove. We get out and get all our stuff on and our instructor (some chick named Charlie) realizes in her frenzy, she had forgotten all of her own equipment. So us four girls, sat there on a wall with our very flattering scuba suits on while Charlie drove back to get her gear.
On the way to the beach, Charlie had breifly gone over how to scuba dive for us novices. This did nothing to calm our nerves.
So anyways she gets back and we get our fins, masks and oxygen tanks on and follow her down a hill into this cove. I vaguelly remember her telling us how to go around the huge rocks until we got into deeper water. Kj and Oliver head out first and I follow while Charlie stays behind with Lisa.

I put my mask on and try to get used to the unusual way of breathing into my tank, when suddenly I feel myself getting unstable. I pull my head out of the water ( I was in about waist deep) and look for everyone else. I cannot see Kj OR Oliver, so I look back to Charlie in Lisa who were some feet behind me.
The next thing I know, the water starts to get really rough and I can feel /hear myself starting to get freaked out (I'm still breathing into my tank which is really loud).
All I can remember is the waves getting out of control. They were huge and I couldn't do anything because of my bulky equipment and fear. The waves would build, pulling me into them then crash down and pummel me against the huge lava rocks I have been trying to manuever around minutes before. Back and forth. Back and forth. I sort of remember wondering where Oliver and Kj were, and if they were getting hurt as much as me. I can still see Lisa and Charlie, Charlie motioning and telling me to come back. One problem. I can't.

I honestly feared for my life in those few moments that felt like forever. I remember the waves being so so big, me having to hang onto rocks so I wouldn't get pulled out to sea, then slamming into rock after rock with water drilling into me. After a while, I was able to get back to shore and I was trying to hold back tears. I don't remember Oliver or Kj coming back in, just that we waited for them then headed back up the hill. I went to take off my fins and realized that I had lost one, along with my goggles. I can imagine my tank being pretty banged up as well.

At the wall that we had waited at before, us friends were all silent and shivering as we took off all our gear and put them in piles. Charlie tried to get us to go back out. Fat chance Charlie. Some other scuba divers that we had seen at the store earlier and who had gotten into the water much earlier because we had to wait for Charlie, came up the hill and asked us if we had felt the water. They (liscenced divers mind you) had been deep under water and felt the water all the sudden change and had had to get out of the water. This made us feel better and less like babies. Liscenced divers were scared.

Needless to say, we didn't get back in the water that day.

There's is my actual near-death experience now in cyber space.
I'm gratefull I didn't die that day, though I was bleeding from my hands where I had no protection from my suit. Janelle took us all back to the store and got all of our money back (she had paid for 1/2 for everyone as a gift for us.) even though they have a policy where they don't give the money back if the scuba students had gotten in the water.

To this day I still remain somewhat weary of water and big waves.
I hope everyone can understand my ramblings :-/
Here's a shout out to Lisa and Oliver for being there!

Aloha

It cost a fortune to fly that in from Norwegia.

This post is dedicated to my bestie Oliver! (by some she is known as Stacy)
She completely made my day yesterday, by saying she liked my blog, so this is for her!

What an awesome girl, she totally saved me senior year. We had a blast in Parkinson's class with Ali, with Al our special Pal, our awesome adventures in Hawaii, and making our music videos. She has the prettiest green eyes, with eyelashes that are 5 times longer than my pathetic short ones (no joke!)
Oliver was such a good sport when we put a hole in her brand-new muffler driving like maniacs in the canyons, and trespassing (sshhh don't tell).

Oliver was there when I completely biffed it boogey boarding at Hukilau, and like a true bestie, asked how I was in the same breath she burst out laughing. We graduated and almost died together (more than once, but one time in particular) which I will save for another blog.

Personally, Oliver, I'm glad you didn't stay in Wyoming. You couldn't stay away for long :)
Oliver + Fabio + Lisa = BFL (Besties for Life)

Never trust a pirate.

So, at the beginning of 2010, I came to a major realization.

In my culture, it is common people to marry young (well younger) and after seeing some end badly, or rude comments made, I came up with the:

KELSIE'S GET OUT OF JAIL FREE PLAN.

Okay I didn't really call it that but it fits the general idea. One moment though, I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me start at the very start.

Last Spring Break, me and 3 of my friends went to Hawaii. I had been feeling wishy washy about the whole thing for a few months before for a few reasons. First of all, it's HAWAII. But 11 days could get to be a lot, I would be missing a lot of school, Easter, and my cousin's farewell. But then again, it's HAWAII.

Okay, back to the point. Obviously as I said before, I decided to go. I love, love, loved it. I loved the laid back atmosphere and the beach, and the sun and I was tan. It was my third time to the Hawaiian Islands, but the other two don't count because of my extremely young age. In other words, I don't remember anything about it :)

So you know on the movies, where they say (for example) if we're not married by 35 (or whatever) let's marry each other. Right?

This got me thinking. And I made a decision. My mother, didn't like the sound of it and thought I went a little overboard, but what can I say? It made me excited!

Are you dying to hear the decision yet? Okay here goes.

"If I (kelsie) Am Not Married By the Age of 24, and I am a RN, I Will Move to Hawaii."

Whew! It's dramatic I know. Originally I was thinking age 27, but Christmas Break changed that. Also it gives me incentive to work that much harder in school to get into a nursing program, so if it comes to that, I have a Plan B. Plus, I have a strange obsession with coconut. Coconut soap. Coconut Scentsys. Pina Colada gum. And the most important: COCONUT M&M'S.

What's not to love about Hawaii? Seriously? Beach. Sun. Chocolate Dream Cake. Palm trees. Ocean. Tan. Flip flops. Coconuts! Pineapples. Shorts. Warmth. (okay well, all the speed limits feel like 5 mph. And the whole "white christmas" thing.)

"Put the lime in the coconut, mix 'em both together. Put the lime in the coconut and you feel better. Put the lime in the coconut, drink it all up. Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning. <3"

Well, that is my input on the blog-o-sphere for now. Any comments are welcome :)
Aloha

ps. boo snow and coldness
pss. yay sun and summer in 3ish months!

"You haven't posted since January 24?! Goodness gracious!"

Wow what a busy week! Here's just a glimpse of it, excluding most classes:

Monday: Spontaneous Salt Lake trip and my newfound addiction to Smith & Edwards. Family Home Evening bowling at the gutter. (1 strike :( didn't break 100)

Tuesday: Busiest day of the week. Dad bought me banana bread at the Hub. 2.5 hour class down in Brigham. Spaghetti night that I missed.

Wednesday: Waffle Wednesday, and the decision to perform "Hey Jude" at the next Waffle Wednesday.

Thursday: Test in Marriage and Family Relationships. Apartment dinner that I missed (somewhat) because of work.

Friday: RELAXATION DAY. Trip to Richmond to eat and do laundry. Me and Tay tay's adventure at TjMaxx and movie night that was an epic failure.

Saturday: Clean-my-room day and mission shopping with Mom and Becca. Dinner at Juniper.

Just re-reading that makes me exhausted, but I kind of liked how busy it was. Today has been recoop day so nothing too exciting.
This upcoming week isn't going to be fun though. Not only do I have a paper due on Thursday, but I have to work Thursday, Saturday, Sunday AND Monday. Yes that's right. Two holidays in a row. Luckily We don't have classes on Monday which is pretty much awesome.

Well I feel pretty blogged out for the moment, so until next time!

Aloha!
Ps. Happy Valentines (single-awareness) Day everyone! I LOVE chocolates fyi.

Summer! Where art thou?!

To ward off the cold winter blues, I'm posting some of my favorite pictures from last summer.
Here's Andrea on the boat.
Us girls at Bear Lake!
Aw! Home-slice!
This one is pretty self-explanitory.
We had such pretty Iris's this year.... my favorite grapey colored one.

Just a homebody.

Wow! How sad! I just blogged today, and yet, here I am again. Blogging=one more thing to get addicted to (ex. facebook, hotmail, gmail, pandora, google, etc.)
I realized the other day while I was sitting at our kitchen table how much college teaches you... here's a few, hope it holds up against boredom for my readers.

36 THINGS I LEARNED AT MY FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE:
1. Everything costs money (harsh truth of growing up)
2. Just because I can stay up as late as I want, doesn't mean I should.
3. The library has a few decent chairs to doze in
4. Granola bars and other portable foods are a must!
5. Water in the BNR is a safety hazard (ew!)
6. It takes around 20 minutes to walk from Old Farm to the Fine Arts bldg.
7. Shower as late as possible at night for the warmest water
8. Never start a prank war with the guys next door around Halloween
9. I sleep talk (ask Tay-tay. Or better yet, don't ask her)
10. It is better to endure choir practice than to walk home in the cold
11. On the days you look your worst, everyone else looks their best
12. Russ starts his english 2010 class early
13. Don't expect a seat on the campus loop shuttle around 8-10 am
14. If you have a clear umbrella, expect everyone to stare at you
15. Just because it doesn't look like its not going to snow/rain, doesnt mean it wont
16. Rice bags are a wondrous invention, unless used too frequently
17. Label all your food!
18. A trip to Carrie's cures the case of the need of a good movie!
19. Always expect the unexpected with Valerie
20. My definition of a scary movies is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than Carli's
21. Always check the rating of a movie before watching
22. Everything always seems so expensive (who knew cinderblocks cost almost $2 a piece?)
23. Being the "cool" apartment with the heater off doesn't make us any warmer ;)
24. You can stretch the need to do laundry as long as needed
25. Don't procrastinate buying scantrons for exams. Buy them early!
26. Don't sit by the windows in the library if you intend to study
27. Ipods help when walking uphill
28. Chicken flavored Top Ramen is the best
29. Buy the big bags of cereal. trust me. you'll eat it all.
30. Always wear layers, over layers, over layers
31. Remember to turn phone on silent before class
32. Notice how people come out doors so you don't push on the wrong side
33. If you can constantly smell cigarette smoke, your probably walking behind a smoker
34. Look both ways before crossing the road
35. Be sure to zip up your backpack ALL THE WAY
and last but not least...
36. I really enjoy being home with the family much more than before

Brilliant brilliant brilliant I tell you!

I posted that youtube website in honor of my roommate Tay-tay. She started using the word "brilliant" so every time she does, we quote this part of the emperor's new groove.

Well, I haven't blogged in a while. Me and the roommies are officially addicted to Grey's Anatomy (if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it, but its ADDICTING BEWARE!) I would have to say my favorite character is Dr. Bailey. Love her!
So me and Keileigh went to the gym yesterday.... yes that's right. Me! Went to the gym! What crazy out-of-character thing will I do next?? All I can say is the ipod totally saved me, I wouldn't be able to run without it (which is funny because it took me forever to figure out how to work it). And Keileigh! That champ! I felt like such a weakling next to her constant long legged run. :)

I just realized this post is completely pointless.
Feel free to give me subjects to speak on!
Aloha!

MOVIE QUOTE #1

"That thing. That moment. When you kiss someone, everything around you becomes hazy, and the only thing in focus is you and this person. And you realize that this person is the only person that you're supposed to kiss for the rest of your life. And for one moment, you get this amazing gift, and you want to laugh, and you want to cry, cause you feel so lucky that you found it, and so scared that it will all go away all at the same time." -Josie Geller, Never Been Kissed

Kelsies Top 10 Movie Kisses:

Okay I can't take credit for this idea, but I'll put my own spin on it!
These are in no particular order.

1. Penelope: When Penelope unintentionally blows her cover and Johnny realizes it's her!

2. Ever After: When they are "abducted" by gypsys and playing rock-paper-scissors. then the gypsys make fun of them kissing.

3. Sweet Home Alabama: Melanie just leaves her second groom at the alter and goes to find Jake, in her wedding dress and its pouring rain.

4. Two Weeks Notice: George just wrote Lucy an apology in the form of a speech and he leaves, then she goes to follow him but she cant find him. Then she see's him and calls his name.

5. Never Been Kissed: Josie writes an apology for her newspaper to Mr. Coolson and tells him to meet her on the pitchers mound for her first kiss, and he is late.

6. While You Were Sleeping: Jack goes to the train station where Lucy works and gives her a ring instead of a token. The whole family watches.

7. Beauty and the Beast: Belle thinks that Beast is dead and then its magic! He transforms back into a human and when they kiss the spell over the castle is lifted!

8. You've Got Mail: Kathleen is waiting for the person she chats with online to reveal himself and it turns out to be Joe Fox who she secretly loved.

9. The Notebook: "Why didn't you write me?" "Write you? I wrote you everyday for a year! I wrote you 365 letters!"

10. He's Just Not That Into You: "You are my exception!"

Gotta love "Girl Talk" and also inconsiderate citizens/jerks of society.

Okay, first of all, what a title! No worries, I will explain myself!
I was extremely blessed and lucky when it came to roommates. Who would've thought 5 completely different girls would get along so awesomely? (Is that a word?) I must admit we were all a little worried when Ica moved out, and who would be taking her place. Lo and behold! Chelsee! (yes, it's awesome we pretty much have the same name). She is convinced she is sooo much older than us, which of course is completely not true, "you young ones". Yesh that's right. An actual Chelsee quote! So anyways this awesome new roommie of ours totally introduced me into the world of blogging (super cute blogging that is). Hence the cuteness of my blog! All hail Chelsee!

Okay so the "Inconsiderate citizens/jerks of society" part.
(one side note. when i asked what i should call these inconsiderate people in my blog, Tay-tay promptly said "citizens" while Chelsee answered with "jerks" thus! my abnormally long title.)

So I came home from work tonight, and while I made me some deliciously nutritious Top Ramen with Wheat Thins, Tay-tay told me this story that happened on the bus. (don't ask me how we got on that subject. i dunno.) Anyways, she said she was on the shuttle and it was packed-as usual- and a lady with her two year-old kid was waiting at those inconspicuous bus stops that you never notice because no one is never there. So the bus stopped and the lady got on, but she had to stand, while holding her kid, while clinging to the bar for dear life.
This got us two talking. If we were guys, (or nearer to the lady) we would've given up this seat for this lady! Or help people stranded on the side of the road! Or be more willing to help creepy guys because, "then we could beat them up if they tried to rob us!"
Yes. This is how we are entertained.
Well, I need to stop this late night blogging!
Aloha!

Finally!

It's pathetic how easily confused I get with technology. It just took me two hours to add music to my blog, when it only should have taken a few minutes! Sad! Now my shoulders are all tense (you know when you sit at a computer too long?) though I feel quite victorious. I did it! And now, you can enjoy some good music while reading my sadly lacking and inconsequential blog. But, I will definately try harder to entertain my readers when I have more time. Off to work, I go!
Aloha!

And so it begins.....

Hey everyone!
I must admit, I never saw myself ever starting a blog. I'm very new to all these technological advances! I just wanted to write one post before I signed off, (since it took me forever to think of a name for my blog!) If anyone has a better name please let me know! As for now, I'm off to bed!
Aloha
