"There's nothing exotic about being an American."

Oh, the joys of college life.
Here I sit, watching a chick flick, eating mac and cheese and blogging away.
Granted I did overcook the noodles a wee bit. You'd think by now I'd be a pro :)

I thought last Saturday would be a good thing to blog about, it being something ordinary but unordinary at the same time. Me, Dad and Home-slice (Jacob) pulled out of the driveway around 8ish a.m. in Grandpas truck headed for H-town. My unofficial job being keeping Jacob satisfied and good music on.

Instead of stopping by Grandma's house we headed straight to the ranch. After Dad talked with some guys, we went to feed the horses. He had me on the flatbed trailer and was going to have Jacob drive the tractor, but thought better of that. So anyways he opened the gate and Jacob drove us in and I watched the horses walk out of the open gate instead of following us.
Dads theory: "Oh we'll go get them on the four wheeler when we're done."
Reality: He sends ME and JACOB on the four wheeler
again, Dads theory: "Once they see you coming, they'll come running."
Reality: Nope. Wrong. Very wrong.
I had thought maybe of grabbing a bucket of oats but figured since Dad didn't say anything about it then we probably didn't need it. I know what I'm doing right?

Ha! We ended up chasing 7 horses all aroung H-town for two hours. We only succeeded with the help of Grandpa and Dad. Go figure. Send the inexperienced 18 and 8 year old to do a job that two men can only do.

So anywho, after doing some yard work for Grandma all afternoon with Andrea, Dad suggested we go get the four wheeler from the ranch.
Andrea drove me up, made sure I started it, then pulled away.
I backed it up and followed after her. I had gone over one measley hill, glanced down to see my speed (45mph) to have the four wheeler die on me. Right in the middle of nowhere!
Unfortunately, Andrea hadn't seen it die on me so I put it in neutral and pushed it to the side of the road. I tried a few times to restart it, trying to remember what Matthew told me about the choke- to no avail.

40 minutes. It took over 40 minutes to walk back, and Dad and Jacob came in the truck when I was two blocks away from the house. Luckily only 3 cars passed and only one stopped. Ha! A man in a yellow SUV thing pulled over and said to me,
"Is that your four wheeler back there?"
Me: "Ha......... um yes."
Yellow car man: "I know I shouldn't offer a ride, but do you need help? I could send somebody."
Me: "Well, my dad should be on his way."
Yellow car man: "You sure?"
Me: "Ha, yeah thanks."

Awkward! Overall it was a long, long, long day.
Wish me luck for next time,
Aloha

Look at Al Pacino. Never been married. Happy as a clam.

I just Googled a picture of Sharks Cove to go along with my near death experience story. Just imagine us halfway down the picture on the far left trying to head to the open ocean (the far right). Aloha.
