"Smaller snacks, slimmer slacks."

DAY #4: A PICTURE OF YOUR NIGHT
So, as unflattering as this picture is, it's a legit picture of my night last night. I was a "sitter" in ICU and my patient slept the entire time, so I had to be creative and think of ways to stay awake. You can only stand so many re-runs of house hunters and check fb so may times. How glad I will be when my days as a CNA are over and I never have to work a noc shift ever ever ever again. Sleeping during the night is NOT overrated, I miss it dearly!
So, I've actually kinda missed my random blogging spurts. I feel like even though I only have 4 followers, someone, somewhere, will find what I have to say interesting. If your just tuning into my day-dreaming blog, I'm Kelsie (my Grandma Nancy calls me Kelsie Elsie) I'm 19, and moving to Hawaii sometime in the future. Enough said.
So this week was spring break, yay..............oh wait! The only plans I had were working and watching my little brother while my parents go roadtripping. So now, here I sit, with an almost empty Pringles can and a house to myself on a friday night. Not a soul around.
So...something that's been on my mind lately, (might be because Andy's engaged...among other recent developments) is soul mates. I've been told by two different groups at completely different times in my life, that (I seem) to be the type of person, that if I'm interested or attracted to someone, I know it right away. For me, either it's there, or it isn't. Some people start out as friends and gradually grow into being in love, but none of that for me! The thing that makes it so funny that these people told me that it seems like this is how I am, is that I have felt that way my entire life! Some food for thought?

Can I just move to Hawaii tomorrow?

"Cat's dead."

30 Day Challenge, Day 3: Picture of the cast of your favorite show.
Bingo! A very very easy challenge indeed! Yes, I am one of the Grey's anatomy junkies who is not only addicted to all the drama but also all the interesting medical cases they have. I am making my way from season 1 onward, and am currently on season 3, (hence the dated picture). My favorite character would have to be either George or Izzy. Least favorite? Definately Alex.

"P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney"

30 Day Challenge, day #2: A picture of you with the person you have been close with for the longest.
Soooo....can't really remember who I was official "friends" with first. I do however remember meeting Shalese (right) in the line for the drinking fountain in what, the second grade? I also remember playing barbies with Jamie (middle) on the bus to and from school. So take your pick. Both were around the same time and we still remain besties to this day! Lovers you both girlies!

"When you die, Mr. Bennett, which may in fact be very soon..."

So lately I've noticed a lot of people doing the "30 Day Challenge" on Facebook, and I thought to myself, 'that looks like fun!' But, instead of doing it on fb, I decided to do a blog version of it. For 30 days. Woot woot, this is exciting!
Anyways, starting January 22, 2010 for the 30 Day challenge, here goes:
Day 1- A picture of yourself with 15 facts.

3. I talk in movie quotes.

"Hi Mr. Wong. It's me, Lucy Kelson....yes it's for one."

I just wanted to put this little tidbit in while I'm wide awake and thinking about it? How come life never turns out how you plan it? You think you have it down and have it all figured out and then something falls through and your left scrambling, trying to pick all the pieces back up. Boo growing up.
Aloha.

"A figurative urn of ridicule."

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! WELCOME 2011!!!
Ah yes, the clean slate of a new year, so refreshing! The perfect time for new years resolutions!
1. No matter my busy schedule this coming year, I promise to never bail on friends or family. Done and done.
2. Be open to new things. No more stuck in a rut Kelsie. But there has to be limits to this resolution. For example, I'm ordering something new everytime I go to a restaurant but I'm not signing up for sky diving.
3. I'm attending EVERY class and lab this year, unless serious illness prohibits it. Easy peasy right?!
4. Having a better attitude about work. Ever since I decided my path lead towards pharmacy instead of nursing, work has been especially hard to go to. It has become "just a job" (like sunshine) instead of "furthering my chance of nursing". Anyways, this last year at the hospital will be awesome.
5. Hello Jillian Michaels, goodbye chub!
6. I'm going to save money like crazy!
7. I'm expanding my horizons nutritionally. No more Ramen a few times a day, I will make myself put in some effort. I do have some other specialties, such as grilled cheese, tacos and french toast.
8. Road trip! On this I will visit James+Spencer in Cedar, Shally+Oliver in Provo, Andrea in Salt Lake, and maybe possibly MLM in New mexico!
9. I'm going to be myself and not worry what other people think. Time to break out the awesome dance moves!
10. World peace.
There are some awesome things that are going to happen in 2011!
-Matthew coming home!
-Becca coming home
-Taylor Swift concert with Kar-lay
-Mona moving in with me
-Kar-lay moving out with us in the fall
Again, happy new year!
Aloha

"That'll do pig. That'll do."

Boo this nasty cold weather! It's only December and already I'm sick of digging my car out of the mound of snow that lands on it every flipping time I leave. In lieu of keeping of this pathetic subject of Utahs sucky winter months, I'll move along.
You people who know me are probably sick of hearing me talk about how I'm moving to Hawaii, but I'm going to do it some more, and you also probably know how I blog best in lists. Kudos to my faithful readers, here goes.
5 THINGS I WILL MISS MOST ABOUT UTAH:
1. My family. Yes this reason alone is almost enough to keep me on this continent, but sometimes you need to move away to fully appreciate what you have.
2. My friends. Although those who are not married, are more than welcome to come with me, (and the married ones can come visit, priorities ya know)
3. All the places that bring back memories. Pioneer day at Bear lake, the Oakley rodeo on the 4th of July, Temple Square at Christmas, Grandmas back porch, Getting sod in Idaho, backyard BBQ's, and etc.
4. Snow. Yes, this will also be on my "10 things I will NOT miss most about utah", but the snow does add to the spirit of Christmas and makes everything look cool, our own personal Narnia.
5. Fall. Logan may be frigid in the winter, but it's pretty in the fall, especially Logan and Sardine canyon.
So... A lot has been going on in just these past few weeks. I've been stressing about work, school, nursing and all the usual stuff.... and when I couldn't sleep I had an epiphany. Gotta love those. Everything just sorta combined and sorted itself out. Lately I've been wondering if nursing is really what I want to do for the rest of my life.... I mean I work right along side them, and granted, the difference between a nurse and a CNA is huge, I felt as though nursing is just a glorified cna job, just with more schooling and getting paid more. I have an awesome friend (Kar-lay I like to call her) Karlie, who is a pharmacy technician. On our trip in Provo, we were talking about work and stuff....and it started this tiny idea in my head. I mean, it was pretty obvious that I was jealous of her hours, but it was more than that. I did some investigating and it turns out that although school to become a pharmacist is 2 years longer than to become a registered nurse, it is easier to get into, has better hours, better work and everything. Because nursing and pharmacy prereqs are so close, I am pretty close. It does have more prereqs (like public speaking....shoot me) but I could be done with those super quick..... Everything is FINALLY falling into place, and I officially have my future sorted out.
Thanks for all the support. Aloha
ps. (who knows....there is a pharm school in Hawaii)
